Looking for a job? Updating your skills? Switching careers? Maximize all your options by becoming information smart in the real world. MATC Libraries have joined forces with the public libraries of the South Central Library System to maximize your taxpayer dollars and serve our communities. By sharing our staff, services and resources we hope to provide dislocated workers with information and skills they need to leap forward in life. The guide contains the latest news, helpful video clips, reliable web sites, useful library resources and more to help you during your transition. All libraries are offering FREE training sessions to our community. Your librarians are here to help.
Come meet the MATC Librarians at your local public library. We will be heading out to many community libraries in the District to provide information and computer literacy skills to dislocated workers. We hope to see you there. All members of the community are welcome.

Job Assistance
Madison Public Library, the Madison Senior Center, and the UW-Writing Center will be offering bi-weekly workshops for job seekers at the Central Library. Trained personnel from the Library, the Writing Center, and the Senior Center will help interested individuals
Sessions are offered Monday and Thursday afternoons, 1 - 4 p.m. through mid-August. Reduced hours will be available through November. Interested job seekers may register for hour-long sessions by calling 266-6350. Drop-ins are welcome and will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis
Computer Training
Free basic computer training is available at the Central Branch. Learn computer basics, how to set up an email account, how to search the Internet, Word Processing for resumes and cover letters, and how to use the library’s catalog, magazine and newspaper searching, including our Genealogy and other databases. Training is offered all year long on Saturdays, at 9:00 and 10:00. Call 266-6350 to register for a 45-minute, one-on-one appointment, or for additional information.
